Grade 7
In order to better prepare students for increasingly difficult academic tasks, the Grade 7 curriculum puts a strong emphasis on enhancing their literacy, numeracy, science, and social studies skills and expertise. While adhering to many curriculum frameworks, including the CBSE, British, IB, American, and UAE Ministry of Education, students study a broad range of courses that foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and a greater comprehension of global settings.
English
Students engage with a variety of literary genres, including fiction, non-fiction, poetry, and drama. Emphasis is placed on analyzing themes, characters, and plot structures while enhancing creative and academic writing skills. Grammar lessons become more advanced, covering subject-verb agreement, complex sentence structures, and advanced punctuation.
Assessments
- Coursework: Analytical essays, creative writing pieces, and group presentations on assigned literary texts.
- Internal: Vocabulary and comprehension quizzes, oral debates, and speech delivery evaluations.
- External: British and IB curricula may include formative assessments through standardized testing frameworks.
Grading System
- A*: Exceptional performance, demonstrating thorough understanding and mastery of the subject.
- A: Strong academic achievement with a high level of understanding and application.
- B: Good academic achievement, demonstrating proficiency in key concepts.
- C: Satisfactory academic achievement, meeting basic criteria.
- D: Marginally below satisfactory performance.
- E: Minimal achievement, below the required standard.
